A company had three platoons

Each platoon was as follows

Platoon HQ – Lieutenant , Radio man, both either M16 or SLR. Medic with pistol may be attached from higher levels.

Each platoon had three sections with each one as follows;

Section command – corporal M16/SLR

Scout group – 2 men. With M16 or Owen SMG.

Gun Group-

Section 2IC, Lcpl, SLR

M60 LMG gunner and No2 with SLR

Rifle Group-

4 men with SLR, 1 man also carries an M79 GL

Owen SMG's were slowly replaced by M16's.
