The German army used the Citroën 11CV, also known as the Traction Avant, extensively as a staff car, especially after occupying France in 1940. The 11cv was a popular, reliable, and comfortable vehicle for staff and officers due to its innovative front-wheel drive and monocoque body, making it a symbol of French automotive design that became widely adopted by occupying forces.

This vehicle can also be used for civilian use and French Resistance and also other conflicts. ANZAC troops in Vietnam found one and painted it pink before gifting it to their nurses to use.
