The 50th (Queen's Own) Regiment of Foot actively participated in both the First and Second Sikh Wars. In the First Sikh War (1845-1846), they were present at the Battle of Mudki, Ferozeshah, Aliwal, and Sobraon. They also fought in the Gwalior Campaign of 1843, which was a prelude to the First Sikh War. The regiment continued its service in the Second Sikh War (1848-1849), particularly at the Battle of Chillianwallah.
